Note: The following only applies to Windows XP with Service Pack 2. No other versions of Windows will automatically update themselves so you must follow one of the other options to patch your system.
The easiest way to check and see if your copy of Windows is already prepared for the DST change is to look at your Time Zone settings:
1. Make sure you are viewing the POSdriver screen. This is the one that runs the "Spcwin" program. If you know this is one of your touchscreens, you will use the keyboard and hit [Alt]+[F4] so you can view the desktop.
2. Click (or Touch) on "Start", then "Settings", then "Control Panel".
3. When the Control Panel opens up, double-click (or Touch) on "Date and Time".
4. Click (or Touch) on the "Time Zone" tab at the top of this window.
5. Click (or Touch) the arrow to the right of the Time Zone listed so the list of other Time Zones appears.
6. Scroll up or down this list of Time Zones until you see "(GMT -08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)".
7. If "; Tijuana" is on that same line then your system is not patched and you will need to follow one of the options listed on our page to prepare your system for DST. On the other hand if you see a completely separate line that reads "(GMT -08:00) Tijuana, Baja California" then you are patched already and do not need to worry about DST.
